1) ġābem ġōlī leʾeśśōḳ // w-leġtīr men eḳemmethLeave my darling to her heart’s desire // and let her speak from her mind.
2) tekdērem bōleh lā // wel temḫayḳem enḫəwethDon’t sully her thoughts // and disturb her bliss.
3) ḏ-denyē tlōbed źīk // ʾān ḏekeskem enfəsethThe whole world becomes tense // if you oppose [one of] her moods,
4) kellen nertəyīźen lā // wel nḥawmel enġəmethNone of us can be at ease // since we can’t endure her anger.
5) hoh meḥṣawl aḥamh lā // kēṯer moh wlē ḳellethI don’t want personal gain // neither a little nor a lot,
6) aḥōm leġtīwī šeh // w-lettōma l-herǧethI just want to flirt with her // and listen to her talk,
7) [we-bṣārī lehḳā // men ezeyneh w-źeḥketh]To quench my eyes // with her beauty and smile,
8) leʾamlī meddəwīr // ḏ-tertūbeh w-ʾablethTo make me her servant // who arranges [everything] and takes care of her,
9) w-lehōmer w-leṭlēb // hoh fdē ḏ-ferḥethTo order and demand // I’ll sacrifice myself for her pleasure.
